Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a TeleMedicine appointment?

A TeleMedicine appointment is a secure online video appointment with your healthcare provider. It can be done virtually anywhere, on a device which supports the specifications outlined below.

2. How do I schedule a TeleMedicine appointment?

Please call our office about setting up a Telemedicine appointment. Our phone number is (269) 321-6673. Once scheduled, you’ll receive an email confirmation with the details of your appointment, as well as a link to the appointment at the scheduled time. If you have not received your email confirmation within 30 minutes of booking the appointment, please check your junk/spam email filters, and/or call back so that we can resend the email. Additionally, you’ll be able to make a payment for the appointment, as per your health insurance coverage, prior to being able to join the video call.

3. How long should I expect my video appointment to last?

Currently, we are scheduling 20 minute appointments, although this may vary in the future. Please confirm with our staff when scheduling your appointment. This information can also be found in your confirmation email, once the appointment has been booked.

4. Can new patients be seen over Telemedicine appointments?

Currently online video appointments are for established patients only.

5. How much do TeleMedicine appointments cost?

As with anything related to the cost of healthcare, the answer is complicated. In most cases, the cost depends on your health insurance, varying between individual patients and their plans. However, most of the time your cost will be similar to, or slightly less than, your cost for an actual in-office appointment.
For Medicare and Medicaid patients, the PAC cost for video appointments will be the same as for in-office appointments.

6. How do I know if my health insurance covers video appointments?

You may need to contact your health insurance and confirm your coverage amount for video appointments.

7. How will I be able to pay for my TeleMedicine appointment?

The confirmation email we send you will direct you to our secure bill pay website, where payment can be made prior to joining the Telemedicine appointment. Payment can also be made when scheduling your appointment! Please make sure to log in 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment time to ensure that payment is processed before joining the video call.

8. Is my TeleMedicine appointment secure?

Yes, the online video appointments are secure. We use state-of-the-art TLS encryption on all video calls.
